Janet is an Extraordinary Nurse and a very hard worker. She runs our holding area for surgery like a well-oiled machine. It is a very difficult job to prepare our patients for surgery so swiftly, while at the same time treating them with kindness and respect, not to mention still being patient with all your co-workers at the same time. She's the main lead nurse in holding on a daily basis and often has the responsibility of overseeing another OR nurse or PACU nurse who isn't as accustomed with the routines of the holding area. She still manages to care for her assigned patients and help the other nurse prepare their patient as well. She wears many hats including recovering patients on the PACU side and manages to do every specialty she does on an expert level. She is a huge patient advocate and ensures all appropriate pre-op tests and paperwork are complete to ensure the highest level of safety for our patients.
When I think of how many of our surgeons comment about the superior care that their patients receive at Fawcett, I think how Janet has a huge part in that. I truly hope that she knows how appreciated she is. Thank you Janet for all of the amazing work you do and helping me take better safer care of my patients by being so vigilant in the holding area.
