Janet Rimicci, MSN, RN

With more than 35 years in healthcare and over 25 years of dedicated service to UCLA Health, Janet has built a legacy defined by compassionate leadership, mentorship, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.

Throughout her distinguished career, she has served in numerous executive and clinical leadership roles, consistently advancing quality, operational excellence, and nursing practice while fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and humanity.

Her impact extends far beyond hospital walls. As a driving force behind the UCLA Health Homeless Healthcare Collaborative, she helped launch and expand a transformative community program delivering medical and mental health care directly to unhoused individuals throughout Los Angeles County. Under her leadership and advocacy, the program has provided tens of thousands of patient encounters and secured major state and federal funding to expand access to compassionate, high-quality care for vulnerable populations.

She has also been a steadfast advocate for survivors through her support of the Rape Treatment Center and Stuart House, removing barriers, strengthening staffing and programming, and ensuring teams felt valued, supported, and connected. Her leadership style is rooted in empathy, action, and authentic human connection, consistently uplifting both patients and staff alike.

Within UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center, she is widely recognized as a trusted mentor and role model whose influence has shaped generations of leaders. Known for her transparency, kindness, and unwavering support, she creates environments where staff feel heard, empowered, and inspired to grow professionally and personally.
