Janet Schmidt, RN
I am a 75-year-old woman with a painful kidney stone. I have been in the hospital for the past 3 days. Janet has taken care of me for 3 days during the day, and while all of the nurses have been kind and responsive she has taken extra care to see that I have been comfortable. She has prepared showers for me making sure I have soap, shampoo, towels, and even body lotion. Notably after one shower, she noticed that my IV could be moved from my inside elbow to my hand. This small task made all the difference in my comfort over the days I have been here. I haven't had to keep my whole arm above my head or straight at my side and I can actually hold my phone up to my ear now without setting off the machine. She has consistently and cheerfully attended to the other many details of my care; including providing clean bedding after my showers. Janet is knowledgeable about the pain medication she gave me and explains their differences to me. Her diligence and cheerfulness definitely deserve high recognition. Thank you, Janet!
