My dad was admitted to Carle Hospital with a massive stroke and was placed on palliative care. He was transitioned to hospice two days later and died that afternoon. It is not an understatement to say it was the hardest day of my life. Janet not only comforted me and my husband, but she also helped us understand what we needed to do after he passed, what the process was, and how he would go through the process. She told me, your dad is our most important patient on our floor because he can't tell us if something is wrong or if he is hurting.
