I would like to nominate Janet, the charge nurse in Resnick 4 East for the DAISY Award. When I took my son into UCLA this week, both he and I were extremely concerned about his serious condition. He is severely autistic, 19 years old, with aggressive conduct. Janet listened intently about all of my concerns regarding my son. She was so very helpful and spent a great deal of precious time explaining his medication regime to me, the effects of the medication, and possible alternative meds. She went above and beyond the call of duty.

Naturally, having to bring a son to an inpatient psychiatric institute is extremely unnerving and stressful. My son is very needy and demands a lot of attention. Not only did Janet provide this intense attention, but she also took time out of her very busy schedule to console me and to help me better understand the process of admission at UCLA Resnick Center. This distinct honor and recognition is well deserved.
