Janice Ayres, RN

One coworker wrote, Janice has worked at Bryan since 2003 and we recently welcomed her to the cancer program. She has rocked her new role. She brings years of oncology experience to the team and shares her knowledge regularly. She has been instrumental in the formation of our Lung Nodule Review Board and Thoracic Multidisciplinary clinic, which assists catching lunch cancers in very early stages. She serves as board member of the local chapter of oncology nursing society. Janice was in charge of Cancer Survivors Day in June 2023 where cancer survivors were welcome and celebrated – it was a great turnout. She is collaborative and consistently looks for ways to improve processes and workflows. We love having her as part of our wonderful team.

Another nurse added, Janice is a ray of sunshine! She treats every patient she meets with kindness. She connects with patients and families in a way that eases their worries as they are going through their cancer journey. One patient in particular, who was struggling with her cancer diagnosis and had very limited support, leaned on her for information/education, advice, patience, help calling providers, figuring out food insecurities, help with transportation, etc. She exuded kindness and patience, which meant the world to this patient.
