My water broke on Wednesday night and my husband called maternity ward, Janice answered the phone call and calmly gave instructions and advice. This was our first experience as parents to be. We came in and she was able to determine that indeed I had started labor! She made sure to make our comfort levels her top priority and checked in with us all throughout her shift. The next day she called the unit, on her day off, just to check in on us to see how we were doing. After our dramatic labor to C-section experience, Janice was once again our nurse and she was so instructional in getting my breastfeeding started. She even spent time helping me express colostrum so that my baby could be well fed. I will always remember the kindness Janice showed to my baby, husband and me.
