Janice is an extraordinary nurse with an incredible amount of knowledge gained from 35 years of experience at Bryan. She is a great co-worker and strong patient advocate, always putting others' needs before her own. Janice is well spoken when explaining procedures to nervous patients. You can see the patient's anxiety melt away as she cares for them and their family members. Janice often goes above and beyond the standard of care because safety and comfort of her patients are her number one priority.
Every one of Janice's colleagues in the GI Lab consider her more a friend than a co-worker. She takes pride in her work and is willing to do whatever necessary to take safe care of the patients in our department. If extra help is needed, she often stays late and is willing to trade hours or shifts to help her co-workers balance their family and work life. Janice always steps up to the plate when asked. She is a mentor to many of the new staff in the GI lab sharing her expertise to help them become confident in their new skills. Janice is poised and makes everything she does look effortless. She never asks for a thank you in return. She is truly one of the most thoughtful and selfless people we have ever met in life.
