Janice goes beyond her duty in providing breast cancer patients service and care. This is evidenced in her taking the initiative to apply for and receive a breast cancer training grant. The "Beyond Cancer" grant provided for a series of classes to educate survivors on the different aspects of their lives which treatment for their cancer effects.
She did an excellent job in facilitating this training. Her preparation showed in her presentation and answering our questions. She answered in terms we could understand and provided her phone number in case we had questions after the classes.
As a new survivor, the information provided in the classes and the ability to talk with other survivors further along in their journey were invaluable to me. Janice added to the classes with her expertise in the various areas with her compassion and caring for her patients. This would not have been possible had Janice not taken the initiative to apply for the grant.
