Janine took care of a patient who was admitted to the Maternity floor who was experiencing a miscarriage at 17 weeks. She remained by the couple's side during the entire process, including providing experienced nursing care and handled complications that occurred prior to delivery very proficiently.Janine advocated for the patient during the after-birth process to prevent her from enduring a surgical procedure, provided the couple with bereavement material and education, and more importantly, made them feel they were loved and not alone during this difficult time in their lives. When it came time for the couple to be discharged from the hospital, the couple didn't know how to leave their baby and Janine offered to rock their baby to help ease their fears and make them feel their baby was loved. The couplestated,"We gained two angels that day, our baby and Janine."
