August 2026 Honoree
Janis Gereaghty, MSN, RN-BC
From the very beginning, when I first talked to MSN, RN Janis Geraghty, she stepped in with a level of care that went far beyond routine. She didn't just tell me what to do-- she took the time to truly understand me. She listened carefully to my concerns, my habits, and even the challenges I faced day to day. Instead of rushing through appointments, she made each interaction feel like it mattered. That alone gave me a sense of calm and trust.
What stood out most was her patience and consistency. She broke things down in a way I could understand- how diet, stress, and daily routines all play a role in blood pressure. She helped me create realistic goals instead of overwhelming expectations. She went the extra mile in ways that truly made a difference. She checked in on me beyond scheduled visits. She offered practical, easy-to-follow advice on lifestyle changes and celebrated even my smallest improvements as major victories. My experience was better because of her guidance and genuine care.
I began to take control of my health. My blood pressure improved, but just as importantly, my confidence returned. I no longer felt lost. I felt supported and capable.
What makes her extraordinary is not just her clinical knowledge, but her compassion, dedication, and ability to connect on a human level. She treated me not as a condition, but as a person who mattered.
For these reasons, I wholeheartedly believe she embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for. Her impact on my life has been meaningful and truly life-changing.
