Janise Roddy works in Med Surg II. Her nomination was by a coworker and reads:
Janise is always kind and compassionate to the patients and the nurses on the floor. She is very helpful to the PCTs as well. She has been the best preceptor and gone beyond my expectations. I can only strive and hope to have her compassion and competency during my new role as an RN. What an excellent example she is for all of us!
A native of Illinois, Janise has lived in Texas for most of her life. She has been with Texas Health for six years, all of that time spent at THSW. In those years, she has truly "blossomed," starting out as a PCT, then becoming an LVN, and earning her RN two years ago. In May of 2013, she will receive her BSN.
"I work with a great group of nurses," Janise said. "I've only been an RN for a couple of years, and they are wonderful role models, helping me everyday I'm on the floor. For them to choose me for this award is a real honor."
