Jansen coordinated a patient in our unit to be able to visit with their dying spouse across the hospital on 4N. I was able to take this patient over before the end of my shift. Jansen is also trying to coordinate to have this married couple share a double room until the spouse passes. While the dying patient is in a contact room, I fully support this and it's the right thing to do and agree that we should be as accommodating as we are able. We have no reason NOT to do this. This is a tremendous example of Jansen's heart with the way she looks at things and tries to provide as good of an environment as she possibly can....with a bit more. This is only a glimpse of the amazing person this wonderful human is. This is beyond compassionate care, beyond special connections in trust and emotional support. She has personally helped multiple staff with matters in their own lives.
