My husband was admitted with a diagnosis of sepsis, but on Sunday, he developed septic shock, and his condition quickly deteriorated. Jackie quickly identified the problem and alerted the Rapid Response team and MD. She administered the appropriate care and took time to make sure I understood what was going on. She took time to care for me too! It was a little overwhelming, but she saw and stayed with us and took the time to make sure care was appropriate, and we understood the process. We were so fortunate to have Jackie watching over my husband for three days. She has excellent critical thinking, clinical skills, and a wonderful bedside manner; she played a vital role in our positive outcome. She was amazingly sweet, kind, patient, and understanding, and she has the 6 Cs of a great nurse. Caring, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, and Commitment. Jackie is amazing- if you had an entire staff of nurses like her, this hospital would be world-renowned. I will always owe her a debt of gratitude for saving my husband.
