Jared Batiste, RN, BSN, PNP Student

We received the following email from a community member about Jared:

I co-run a professional theatre in town and last night during a sold-out performance of Summer + Smoke by Tennessee Williams, we had a medical emergency during the first scene of the show in the audience and had to stop the show. Jared Batiste, RN, BSN, president of the 23/24 LSUHSC Doctor of Nursing Practice class was in attendance and immediately sprang into action. He calmly tended to the audience member and made sure he did not get further injured until the EMS arrived. He helped the disoriented patron not fall out of his chair and for him safely to the floor. It was because of him this patron got excellent emergency care until the ambulance arrived to take our patron to the hospital. What a local hero. Thank you.
