Jared Fries, RN

I encountered him during one of the most serious and frightening diagnoses of my life. From the moment he introduced himself, he made me feel seen, heard, and cared for when I was overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of what was happening. That first experience left such a lasting impression on me that I immediately felt a sense of relief knowing I was in good hands.

Since then, Jared has been my nurse during my last three ER visits, and every single experience with him has been exceptional. No matter how busy or stressful the emergency room environment was, he consistently treated me with patience, professionalism, kindness, and genuine compassion. He never made me feel rushed or like “just another patient.” Instead, he always took the time to check in with me, explain what was going on, and make sure I understood my treatment and care plan.

One of the things that stood out most was how encouraging he was when it came to asking questions. During medical emergencies and serious health concerns, it can be difficult to process information or even know what to ask. Jared made sure I felt comfortable speaking up about anything I didn’t understand, and he explained things calmly, reassuringly, and respectfully. That level of empathy and communication made an enormous difference in easing my fear and anxiety.

What makes Jarred special is how he combines clinical excellence with heartfelt compassion. He is incredibly skilled and professional, but he also brings humanity and warmth into every interaction. When I felt vulnerable, exhausted, or scared, his reassuring attitude helped me feel stronger and more hopeful. He consistently went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, informed, and emotionally supported.

Each time I left the ER after being under Jared’s care, I felt better not only physically, but emotionally as well. He has a remarkable ability to comfort patients during some of the hardest moments of their lives, and that kind of impact should never go unnoticed. Nurses like Jared help patients feel safe during difficult experiences.

I truly believe Jarred exemplifies everything the DAISY Award stands for: compassion, nursing excellence, dedication to patients, and extraordinary human kindness. I am deeply grateful for the care he provided to me during some very difficult times, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.
