In Jared's nomination, a parent shared how multiple nurses showed compassion during their child's visit to the Emergency Department, providing the child with coloring books, a teddy bear, and a fidget spinner to help calm and comfort him. One nurse, in particular, Jared, I want to say a special thank you to, the nominator said. He carried my very sleepy son out to the parking lot and put him in his car seat at discharge. My son was very hesitant at first to let a stranger take him, but Jared was patient with him, and he felt comfortable enough to let Jared pick him up. I saw such compassion and patient-centered care.
