On multiple occasions, patients have called me into the room to specifically compliment Jarren on his behavior, attitude, kindness, and quality of care.
Jarren is an extraordinary nursing student that demonstrates the values consistent with the purpose of the DAISY Award. Jarren has the ability to inspire and motivate his patients to take initiative in their own care. He possesses great communication skills as well as the ability to talk to anyone in a calm and caring manner. He has demonstrated caring and compassionate behaviors throughout his clinical experience. Jarren is very sensitive to his patient’s needs and spends quality time getting to know them on a personal level.
On multiple occasions, patients have called me into the room to specifically compliment Jarren on his behavior, attitude, kindness, and quality of care. One of my favorite stories about Jarren is when he had an elderly female patient that believed he was the best nurse she had ever known. She called him her “darling.” She even called me in the room and asked me if I knew that he was her “darling!” Jarren is an outstanding nursing student not only clinically but academically as well. He was nominated by the ADN faculty and selected as a recipient of the 2021 Excellence in Associate Degree Nursing. He is a member of both the local and national Student Nurses' Association. He enjoys volunteering for community events and making donations to local hospitals, long-term care facilities, and fire stations. He graduated from NCC with an Associate Degree in Nursing with a 4.0 cumulative GPA.
