June 2025 Honoree
Jashley A Baez, BSN, RN
As you know, we've experienced a heartbreaking amount of loss recently in the Pediatric ED. This past weekend, we had another tragic code that unfortunately resulted in a patient passing. In the midst of that emotional and high-stress situation, Jashley went above and beyond to ensure the family was able to have one final goodbye with their child. While this act may seem small on the surface, it required thoughtful coordination and deep compassion. In moments of unimaginable grief, what Jashley provided was everything to that family. This is the kind of nursing that exemplifies the spirit of the DAISY Award.

My beautiful 6-year-old granddaughter L passed away in the Pediatric ED. I would like to nominate Jashley for the DAISY Award. She personally stayed with our family and showed why she became a nurse. She cried with us, she wanted to know about L and what she liked to do. That night, she shared our grief as we grieved her loss.
