While I was a patient on 8 Lime, I was cared for by Jasmin over several shifts. During that time, I would get confused and keep setting off the bed alarm. She ran to me each time, never losing her cool, and helped me to get settled, and patiently explained what she was doing. But it wasn’t until I was close to discharge that I truly appreciated her care and concern. I had been in remission for lung cancer until I was diagnosed with mets to bone, my entire thoracic spine, and her care and patience were truly supportive. She shared that she had been worried about me, and her openness truly touched me. I am a retired RN, and I appreciate her kindness and patience with this difficult patient.
