Jasmine Burgess, RN, ATC, LAT, MS, CES

Jasmine has been a true asset to our emergency department. One of many situations where she has demonstrated the importance of human values in her clinical practice was when she had a completely full assignment and, without being asked, stepped up to take over the Zoom role when the Zoom nurse was pulled to attend to a critical patient. She discharged patients, roomed patients, cleaned rooms, updated vital signs, and administered medication to lobby patients while still attending to her patient load. This demonstrates compassion towards her coworkers and her commitment to teamwork values.

Another instance in which I was involved with her, a patient was upset about her care, but Jasmine sat down with this patient, explained her treatment process, advocated for this patient as the patient was saying she was in pain, but medications ordered weren't helping, and provided the patient with resources to help her receive outpatient care. She is compassionate towards both her patients and her team.
