I am nominating Jasmine Calixte for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award in recognition of her leadership qualities and dedication to the excellence of nursing. She has served as a mentor and resource person for novice nurse managers. She has taken off her nurse manager hat and placed her staff nurse hat back on during codes and rapid response situations. She embodies the attributes of compassion and mutual respect as a leader for the staff on the units as well as the organization. Jasmine Calixte has been open to empowering her staff to be a better version of themselves. She assists in nursing development classes for the staff, including both nurses and nursing assistants. Jasmine participated in the 2023 Quality Fair at NBIMC as well as presented with me at the RWJBH Quality Fair on the project piloting a communication board for visual discharges. Mrs. Calixte’s commitment to fostering a culture of empathy and safety for patients is noted in her commitment to ensuring her staff is up to date with education and training.
