Jasmine had a great personality and made me feel comfortable right from the start. She took the time to listen to what had been going on, asked questions, assessed my son and made sure we had what we needed. Even though she was really busy, she made us feel as though my son was her only patient. We had Jasmine as our nurse for two of our three days spent in the hospital. For the time she spent with us, Jasmine always went above and beyond in her care of our son and made sure that this stressed mommy was ok too!
There was talk of discharge even though my son was still running fevers and persistent rash. Jasmine could sense that I was very uncomfortable taking him home like that with no answers. She wasn't ok with that. She stepped up to advocate for us and was able to get an additional consult for my son. I know she stepped on a resident's toes to make this happen for us, but she did what was right for her patient… and that is why she is a great nurse.
In the short time we were here at Phoenix Children's Hospital, I could tell that Jasmine is a real asset to PCH. I saw her teaching a nursing student, caring for her other patients, helping other nurses, staying late to collect labs, and the list goes on. I truly feel that Jasmine is an extraordinary nurse that deserves the recognition of the DAISY Award. She is confident and professional but most of all caring. As a caregiver she was exceptional.
Note: This is Jasmine's 2nd DAISY Award!
