November 2022 Honoree
Jason Green, RN
I arrived to the ED with stoke symptoms and was quickly sent to the CDU unit. Jason was my assigned nurse. I had the opportunity to have him during two shifts. During that time, he showed excellent communication, service, and commitment to his job. I had a severe reaction to cold and he took the time to set up the room temperature and to be sure all my mediations water etc. were at room temperature. I had the opportunity to see his excellent work with other patients as well. At my discharge, he took the time to ensure it could be expedited due to personal reasons.
He told me he is an ED RN but he decided to stay in CDU since there he has the opportunity to know the patients by name and have a personal relationship with them. He said it is not always possible in the ED as the patient stay is quick.
On my last day, the floor was short of staff and he decided to stay to help for four extra hours to cover and help to keep the unit running. I wish all the nurses were like Nurse Jason Green. My mother cherished Nurse Green because he was so kind and thoughtful, and dedicated. He might be the most professional nurse we have ever met.

Thank you, Jason, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
