It took three days to start feeling better again. It was a frustrating three days. But if it hadn’t been for Jason, I may have felt like that for a long time.
I came in with a UTI and was being treated for that. The doctor put me on a medication I’d never had before. As the week went on, all my numbers were good, like my blood pressure, blood sugar, and oxygen, and the same was true for my urine and blood tests. But I couldn’t make sense of things. I was confused, and it scared me. I was speaking okay and answered all the questions I was asked correctly. I had an MRI on my head. It came back negative. I had chest x-rays of my heart, and nothing was wrong. I knew what was going on, but my mind was on overdrive. Just spinning, confused, and it had me in tears. Jason Miltenberger came in one night and could sense I was distressed. He took time to listen to me. The only thing different was the antibiotic. He left and called to talk to a pharmacist to see if it could be a side effect of the medicine. He returned a little later and said, “I think we have a winner.” The pharmacist said it was probably what they call blood toxicity to the brain. He called the Doctor to let them know. It took three days to start feeling better again. It was a frustrating three days. But if it hadn’t been for Jason, I may have felt like that for a long time. I thank God for Jason. He took the time to listen to me and was very caring.
