July 2026 Honoree
Jason Valdez, RN
When I was admitted to SICU, I was confused and disoriented. On my second day, I met Jason, and he was so calm and patient with me. He explained everything to me regarding my care plan.
I have been experiencing a lot of anxiety, and his compassion and caring touch were so soothing and reassuring; he stayed by my side to talk me through the attacks. I have also been experiencing what they told me was ICU delirium. He made me feel safe and 100% confident in his care of me.
Everyone has been nice on this unit, but to me, Jason goes beyond to make you feel like you're a family member and his highest priority. He is truly a blessing, and Methodist is fortunate to have him.
Thank you, Jason, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
