On my mother's third day in the unit, Jason was her night nurse. We could see he was busy, but still came in to update us and assess her condition. He patiently listened to our concerns and since this was his first shift with her, listened carefully to what we felt were recent changes in her symptoms. Jason was professional and compassionate and cared for our Mom like we would care for her. He was the first nurse to give me the direct number to the nurses' desk and the first night I felt I could go home and rest, knowing and trusting that he would watch her closely and call me if there were any concerns.
I am sure her other nurses did an excellent job, but communication is key when dealing with an anxious family; especially when the diagnosis is uncertain and answers are few. Jason listened and communicated to us his plan for her care during his shift. He was generous with his time and information. He had an excellent grasp of her situation. He answered even the most anxiety driven questions with patience and respect. He cared for her graciously and gently.
Our family is appreciative of the fine nursing care provided by Jason.
