Jason was my dad's nurse back in January for a brief stay in the ICU. He was always so caring and kept my dad laughing the entire time. When my dad was readmitted to the ICU after suffering cardiac and respiratory arrest, Jason cared for him during his final 3 days on Earthside. His caring nature, attention to our father's needs, and empathy in every conversation with my family made a very emotional experience much better. He cried with me, reminisced about my dad, and somehow even made me laugh in moments of pure grief. Jason is the epitome of what a nurse should be. He exemplifies everything the DAISY Award stands for, and so much more.

When my dad passed, his gentle words and hugs were reassuring, and, in that moment, he felt more like family than a nurse.
