When my Dad was admitted to Frye Regional Jay Utsinger was his nurse both weekends that my Dad was there. Jay was exceptional for both my Dad and my family. The first weekend we were not able to visit because my Dad was diagnosed with COVID in addition to his heart issues, but Jay kept us well informed of my Dad's status by phone. Jay was very kind and made sure we understood what was going on, allowing us to ask questions as needed and let us know he would talk to us anytime. The second weekend, due to my Dad's dire condition, the doctor arranged for my mom and me to be with him. Jay was my Dad's nurse again that weekend. He not only kept checking on my Dad regularly but he also kept checking on my mom and me, keeping us informed, asking if we had questions, and asking if there was anything he could do for us. Jay’s care not only for his patient but for us as a family was very comforting during those difficult days.
