Jaycob took the time to know who my uncle was, not just another patient temporarily on the floor.
I nominate Jaycob for the tender compassion and care that he displayed to my uncle and our family in the final days of his life. Upon arriving on the 7th floor, he was very intentional in educating us on how to care for my uncle, explaining with great empathy the process of passing. He treated my uncle with nothing but honor and respect, introducing himself every time he walked in the room, telling my uncle where he was and why he was there, and then tenderly explaining what he was going to do (i.e., adjusting his position or administering medications, etc.).
Jaycob took the time to know who my uncle was, not just another patient temporarily on the floor. He was also very sensitive to the lack of understanding we had upon arrival (we flew in late) and graciously took the time to answer any and all questions while also caring for us in our exhaustion. Upon discharge to hospice care, I was able to give Jaycob a hug, thank him, and say a prayer over him and his journey. Life is not easy. I am very grateful for caring souls like Jaycob who understand the trials of life and go out of the way to make the journey as blessed as it could have been.
Jaycob, thank you for caring not only for my uncle but also for the family. I am forever grateful for your professionalism and compassionate care.
