What struck me the most about her was her calm presence and ability to create a therapeutic environment not only for the patients, but also for the families involved in their care.
Jayden Moody is one of those rare individuals whose compassion, clinical skills, and unwavering commitment to patient care elevate the standard of nursing practice. Recently, we shared the care of a couple of particularly complex and acutely ill patients on her unit. From the beginning, Jayden demonstrated a deep sense of ownership, diligence, and empathy. She anticipated the patient's needs before they were spoken, kept the care team and me appropriately informed with clear, timely communication and advocated relentlessly to ensure our patients received the best possible care.
What struck me the most about her was her calm presence and ability to create a therapeutic environment not only for the patients, but also for the families involved in their care. She communicated complex medical information in language the families could understand, never rushed their questions, and consistently treated them with kindness and dignity. I saw firsthand how her presence brought comfort during our patients' vulnerable times.
In addition to her compassion, Jayden demonstrated clinical excellence. She noticed subtle changes in my patients' conditions that led to early intervention and likely prevented more serious deterioration. Her assessments are thorough, her charting meticulous, and her collaboration is incredible. I trusted her judgment completely in our patients' care. Nurses like Jayden are the backbone of patient care in our hospital, and it is a privilege to work beside her. She embodies the spirit of the Daisy award through her dedication, skill, and humility.
