Jayme was my wife's nurse today. My wife has cancer and is struggling with pain, nausea, and significant weakness. She needs help with all her physical needs as well as her meds, food/drink, etc.

We had never experienced the level of care that Jayme provided today. She was so capable in her medical duties regarding the administration of my wife’s medications—especially that schedule of various medications and timing. She was even in tune with how slowly she needed to inject certain medications into her IV line so as not to give her a fast reaction.

She was also helpful with ensuring she had the right food choices and even ordered some additional items when my wife couldn’t tolerate them.
She helped her with her toileting needs if the PCA was not available and made sure she didn’t drop the ball on any other patient needs. She hustled and handled five things at once but in a kind and gentle manner. It always felt like she cared about every activity she was involved in. In addition, this was all done with a kind, gentle, and compassionate manner. You could just sense she really cared about each patient's care and comfort. She was fantastic in every way.

And if that wasn’t enough, she did something at the end of the evening, after her shift was over that touched our hearts and a memory we will remember for a long time.

She asked my wife if she could say a prayer for her. When she agreed, Jayme leaned over held her hands and said the most beautiful and touching prayer and brought tears to her eyes feeling her caring and the true nature of Jayme’s compassion for others. She is so nice.

What a wonderful representative she is of the nursing staff at OCMC. As much suffering my wife is going through right now, Jayme provided a moment of hope and tenderness we will never forget.
