Jaymee Cannon was just the epitome of what you would think and hope a nurse should be!
My 94-year-old Dad had Urolift surgery and a Suprapubic Catheter installed on Thursday,  with Dr. T. Because Dad bled more than his doctor liked and his advanced age, he decided to keep him overnight. Dad was assigned a room right across from the nurses’ station. His nurse was Jaymee Cannon. She had the sunniest disposition even though she was 6 months pregnant!

Whenever Jaymee entered the room to check on Dad, she had a smile on her face. She talked to all of us as if we were her longtime friends. She was just so personable! Dad’s urine bag needed emptying quite often and so she checked on him often. If we asked her for anything, like we requested another blanket, a pillow, and water, she got them immediately. She just treated Dad as if he was her only patient, and we know she had others. She took time to answer any question that Mom or I had in a manner that was kind and not rushed.

Even when I went out to the nurses’ station to ask, she took time and was understanding of all our concerns. She had to contact Dr. T several times with Dad’s bleeding. She always let us know the doctor’s responses. Once we spilled a whole cup of water on the floor, she calmly got some towels and cleaned it up herself. Some others may have called for an orderly or janitorial person to wipe it up. She was very patient with Dad. Older people move slowly and she did not hurry him along. She was gentle when handling him.

Jaymee Cannon was just the epitome of what you would think and hope a nurse should be!
