Jaymee has done a fantastic job of stepping into a difficult situation and providing stability, growth, and improvement. Effecting change in any group is predicated on holding the respect and esteem of the individuals in that group. Jaymee has that. She moves seamlessly between the different parts of the OR team, treating every one fairly and as the valuable team member they are. It is a unique quality that few people but many good leaders share. It is the same phenomenon as when Steve Jobs returned to Apple and brought it from fading into obscurity to international prominence. I don't think the comparison is an exaggeration. To listen to everyone, synthesize the different pieces, and to anticipate the challenges is the difference between avoiding problems and continually improving. Jaymee has more than the necessary skills, she has the necessary vision.
When there have been difficult or challenging cases she has placed herself in the OR for cases that others wanted to avoid. She is accessible and effective from the bedside to the office and completes so many different roles with grace and poise. We are lucky to have her as part of our team.
