I have been in and out of the hospital and ER numerous times over the past year, and have had Jayna many times as my nurse. She is someone who genuinely cares about her patients. I have been depressed and down and out lately. This last ER visit, I had Jayna as my nurse, and she was nothing short of amazing.

We were laughing and joking around and sharing old stories from our past and stuff. I have not laughed in quite a while. What she does not know is that she actually pulled me out of the depression I have been in for the past 2 months. And to top it off, we got to talking about our love for antiques, and one of the things I collect is buttons. I told her how all of mine were stolen a few months ago. Well, the next night she showed up to my room in the hospital with a Tupperware container of hundreds of buttons.

There are no words to express how that made me feel. To anyone else, they were just a bunch of buttons. But to me, it was more than that, and it meant the world to me. After she left, I just sat there and cried for a little bit. She has no idea what that small jester, along with the night before when I showed up at the ER and had me laughing, did for me. Like I said, she pulled me out of this funk and depression I was in. I am no longer depressed, and I feel good again. I don’t know how I can repay her for that, she is such a wonderful and compassionate human.
