Jayna is often the resource nurse on night shift because of her knowledge, skills, her ability to be a role model and she assists her peers. She utilizes her critical nursing skills and is able to teach this to staff. She can anticipate and diffuse problems before they escalate with patients. She listens to patients respectfully and responds to situations in a calm professional manner. She readily assists co-workers when they need help. She boosts moral and makes this often stressful work environment more fun and at the same time builds teamwork by posting staff's birthdays, organizing parties and celebration of life events with staff. Nurses who feel valued, like their co-workers and can have some fun at work give much better care to their patients. Jayna does all of the above. She is respected by staff and patients. She consistently offers support and assistance to staff and patients.
