My boyfriend was admitted to the hospital for a week with norovirus and food poisoning at the same time. Because of all the stress on his body, his heart, kidneys, and liver started to go into shock. Because of the severity and suddenness of it all, it was the scariest time of both of our lives.

Once he was finally admitted and got a bed, Jayson was one of his main nurses up on the 6th floor. Every day, we looked forward to seeing him because his presence alone naturally brings peace and comfort, not to mention his evident clinical skillset and tireless compassion for both of us. He sat with me and thoroughly and patiently answered all of my questions, sometimes more than once until it clicked for me. I know he had other patients to tend to, but he always made us feel like he was never too busy or in a rush.

Nurse Jayson advocated fiercely for my boyfriend and would explain to us in detail what was going on until he was confident that we felt better and heard. He even sat with me and held space for me as I was crying due to an anxiety attack in the lounge and offered comfort and companionship when I felt so alone.

He made all of the difference in my boyfriend's mental health. I could tell each time he stepped into the room, my boyfriend was at ease and even would cheer up a little. The way he made us feel with his compassion, empathy, and integrity is something I will never ever forget, and I'm so forever grateful to have had him on my boyfriend's team.

He is such an asset! Nurses like Jayson make all of the difference in the world.

Thank you, Jayson L, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
