My favorite is when she dresses the babies in fun outfits that she buys with her own money…it has given us some lighthearted memories to look back on and has put a smile on our faces even during the hardest times.
Jean continues to go above and beyond for not only our son’s care but any baby she takes care of. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable and thorough but she is an amazing mentor to the other nurses and orientees. When our son was admitted the first time, Jean was his nurse for three days…she went out of her way to give us updates and kept us involved the entire time. As a mom, I cannot express how much I appreciated this! I have personally struggled with finding a good balance between spending time at the hospital and also being there for my 2-year-old son at home. But it’s because of Jean I felt at ease enough to take a break and recharge. She gave me the confidence I needed knowing it was okay and that he was under amazing care. She even goes as far as to check on us on her days off – that is true dedication! My favorite is when she dresses the babies in fun outfits that she buys with her own money…it has given us some lighthearted memories to look back on and has put a smile on our faces even during the hardest times.

The second time our son was admitted, we had him home for two days when he stopped breathing and we had to perform CPR. It was such a traumatic day for my husband and me but I will never forget that sense of relief I felt when I found out Jean was our charge nurse. She reached out to us before we even made it to our room and once again went above and beyond for us when we needed it the most – Jean truly cares about her job, the babies, and their families and expects nothing in return. I cannot express enough how thankful we are for her and how deserving she is of this award.
