May 2026 Honoree
Jean Chrysostome Iraguha, Registered Nurse
Jean Chrysostome has worked at Bumbogo Health Center for 10 years. At that time, he was an Associate Nurse, and since Sept 2019, he has struggled with COVID barriers; he went to school and came in on weekends to work to support his family. On the job, he is in charge of tuberculosis and circumcision. He shows compassion and professionalism, and he refers patients on time, according to guidelines, with no delay.
Jean Chrysostome discusses with staff regarding nursing & clinical management openly, and when you ask him for any support or extra schedule, he is available. He is under contract, but he prefers to stay in a rural area, underpaid somehow, just to help the population, as we have more staff turnover here. Jean Chrysostome has the spirit to understand and work with severe cases, as well as community interactions/hearing.
