Jean was nominated by her colleagues for her compassionate nature and calming attitude to her patients. Despite having a very busy patient assignment, Jean sat with her patient during her gammaglobolin infusion. Her patient was newly diagnosed with thrombocytopenia and she was extremely anxious regarding her treatment. Jean was able to calm the patient's fears by sitting with her and listening. She included students in the conversation and patient education/care. This was a great learning experience for students to see how taking the time no matter how busy, to touch a patient and alleviate anxiety. The students witnessed the whole team coming together to help a coworker complete her assignment.
