November 2015 Honoree
jean newby lovelace, ADN, CCRN
While in the ICU, a male patient had a severe allergic reaction (possibly to plasma). Jean saw the reaction in advance and was ahead of the reaction and could see problems coming. As the reaction happened, she was extremely calm and explained what was happening, called in for the support and headed off a very serious blood pressure drop and trachea constriction. It is our belief that Jean kept him from crashing totally and we are grateful for her incredible actions. Fantastic job Jean! You are our hero!
Thank you, Jean, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
