Jean demonstrated his exemplary knowledge, care and commitment to his patients and their safety upon recognizing a possibly life-threatening complication following one of his patient's surgeries.

The patient was not doing well immediately post-op. Jean recognized the signs/symptoms of the complication and took steps to attend to the patient and their comfort, as well as promptly notifying the surgeon of what was going on. The patient was found to have an internal bleed and was immediately transferred to the OR for repair.

Following surgery, the surgeon sought Jean out to tell him not only the outcome of the surgery, but also to thank him for recognizing the complication and alerting him so that it could be immediately addressed. Jean's skilled and timely assessment and interventions potentially saved this patient's life.

Jean did a great job and is truly an asset to the team.
