We had a critical pediatric patient who was a ward of the state admitted in respiratory distress due to illegal silacone injections. Jean personally connected with this child and advocated for her medically & personally. The patient had to be transferred to another hospital for a higher level of care but remained in contact. Because of the legal nature of her case, Jean voluntarily spoke on her behalf to the Essex County Prosecutor after her shift one night. The prosecutor's office said that because of her statements the woman who inflicted harm on this child would be arrested. She helped save her life when she was critically ill and hopefully changed her life after recovering from the illness.
