Jean jumped in with the doctor in the trauma and helped with all of the labs and equipment, keeping the chaotic room calm and focused.
I really wanted to take the time to give a much needed "kudos" to the ED nursing administration for all of their help last Monday. We had a pediatric GSW patient, the second in 24hrs, with a cardiac arrest coming in at the same time, along with all of our "typical" critical high-volume patients. Jean, Carrie, Liz, and Kelsey all immediately came into the department to help with whatever needed to be done.

Jean jumped in with the doctor in the trauma and helped with all of the labs and equipment, keeping the chaotic room calm and focused. Kelsey jumped in to help me with the cardiac arrest and spent an exorbitant amount of time with me and the family afterward. Carrie and Liz were running around helping everyone else keep the flow going in the department. They all stayed until the patients were stabilized and the chaos had plateaued.

It truly was impressive to have them all jump in so quickly without hesitation and be willing to do whatever was needed or asked of them to keep this place afloat. We would not have made it without them, and patient care would have significantly suffered. I did not have the chance to convey this last week during the audit commotion, but I did not want their actions to be dismissed or forgotten because of bureaucratic headaches. Their actions showed great leadership and respect for their fellow team members, and their actions did not go unnoticed by myself, the other doctor working, or the nursing staff. Thank you all again for all you do for this department and our patients on a regular basis, and especially for when you (continually) go above and beyond!
