A family, so worried about their elderly father's surgery nominated Jean Watson-Kerr for the great comfort she provided to not only their dad but his entire family. The patient's daughter wrote to Administration to share the comfort and kindness that Jean offered during a time of fear and worry. Knowing that their dad was undergoing complex surgery, the family had great worry for his tolerance and recovery. Jean explained everything in a manner that they all understood. Jean got the family and patient informed of all treatments that prepared Dad for surgery. Jean included the family in the total plan of care. The daughter was able to exhale and breathe relief while waiting with Dad in the Pre-Op Holding area because of the care provided by Jean. Jean recognized that she doesn't only care for the patient, she cares for all his loved ones. Jean is a true DAISY Nurse.
