April 2021 Honoree
Jeanetta Hawkins, BSN, RN
Ms. Hawkins was one of the nurses who helped us with our pre admissions. She provided so much clarity on what my husband could and couldn’t do. Even providing an object lesson or example on how to use the Incentive Spirometer to strengthen his lungs: she took out one and said, “Now this is yours, that’s Stella and then pulled out another one and said, “This is Stella’s twin sister Ella and they both operate the same way. You need to exhale completely (as if someone just got on your last nerve) and then pull in ole Stella’s tube. She repeatedly showed us this process using Stella and her twin sister Ella.
Thank you, Jeanetta, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
