My 14-year-old daughter had the 2nd surgery on her left ear, and we knew, in advance, she was going to be hospitalized for a few days post-op. Her hospitalization has now been going on the 3rd week because she developed blood clots after the surgery, and her inflammatory markers were extremely high! Jeanette was her nurse one shift, and she continued to be her nurse every day that she worked because Jeanette only works 3 days a week the 7am-7pm shift. S and I have looked forward to Jeanette coming to work caring for our needs because Jeanette not only took care of my daughter, S, she also made sure I was comfortable & had everything I needed! Jeanette ALWAYS went ABOVE & BEYOND the call of duty!!! She ALWAYS did the extras like changing my daughter's bed every shift she worked & washing our personal clothes when we ran out of clean items, particularly underwear, because we had packed for only a few nights of hospital stay. She ALWAYS made sure I had fresh coffee each morning because she knew I liked coffee to get my day started. If my daughter's room needed cleaning such as sweeping the floor, taking out trash, cleaning bathroom fixtures, Jeanette made sure it got done. She treated my daughter with compassion, patience, & understanding! She has an AMAZING bedside manner! She made sure S was comfortable & understood difficult procedures & ALWAYS called in the facility dogs because she knew how calming & therapeutic that was for her. Jeanette Becker is a TRUE GEM in the medical profession & definitely an asset to the nursing staff on 5E @ The Children's Hospital Prisma Health!!
