I was allowed to participate in the care of my husband. Given the circumstances of the situation, staff members were not intimidated by me, and with the life changes ahead for my husband and family, allowing me to be a part of his care was essential.
Nurses Jeanette and Jennifer were constantly there with my husband and several nurses stepped in to hold his hand to comfort him, which was wonderful to see.
These nurses were aware of all changes to my husband's status and care and were diligent in properly reporting the changes to whomever necessary.
