Jeanette Lieber, BSN RN

Jeanette has been a valuable asset to the Jefferson Torresdale Team since she began working here. A recent encounter involving her really stood out to me. I work in the outpatient world at SKCC. My patient was receiving a complicated chemotherapy regimen when his colostomy bag started leaking. Although we tried to patch it up and keep the damage to a minimum, it was unsalvageable. My patient was very upset and embarrassed, and I didn't know where to begin. My coworker knew that contacting Jeannette would be the best course of action.

Within moments, she was at the cancer center, supplies in hand and a smile on her face. Jeannette took her time and completely changed the patient’s bag. She also patiently helped the patient get changed into clean clothes. All the while, Jeannette spoke to the patient with dignity, kindness, and compassion. By the end of their encounter, the patient had gone from being upset and embarrassed to laughing and smiling while sharing stories about his late wife. Jeannette made the patient feel safe and secure. The patient maintained his dignity thanks to Jeannette’s compassionate care. This is just one example of the literally hundreds of times Jeannette has gone above and beyond for her patients. Jeannette makes our patients’ experiences better with her skill, knowledge, experience, and kind heart. We are fortunate to have her on our team.
