Jeanette Rodriguez Vasquez is an exceptional nursing student whose compassion, resilience, and dedication truly embody the spirit of the DAISY Award. A Cuban woman, mother, grandmother, and ophthalmologist in her home country, Jeanette came to the United States just two years ago to begin a new life and pursue a second career in nursing.
Despite language barriers and significant challenges, she consistently goes above and beyond with grace, humility, and unwavering professionalism. In clinical settings, Jeanette treats every patient like her family. Her kindness, patience, and genuine presence bring comfort to patients and reassurance to families. Even when communication is difficult, she bridges gaps with warmth and respect, earning the trust of patients, staff, and peers alike. Beyond her clinical excellence, Jeanette is distinguished by her unwavering commitment to others.
She consistently supports and encourages her classmates and approaches every learning opportunity with genuine gratitude, all while thoughtfully balancing her roles as a devoted mother and grandmother.
